On September 25, Youth Solutions proudly launched our new service line, Youth Solutions (YS) Foundations, at three schools in Saginaw County through an exciting partnership with Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD). This initiative, rolled out at Merrill Middle School, Merrill High School, and St. Charles Community Middle/High School, will impact nearly 600 students by embedding career development into the school experience, fostering long-term success for both students and educators.
YS Foundations, formerly known as YS Select, is a school-wide approach designed to assist schools in creating and sustaining an effective, multi-tiered system of supports for career development. YS Foundations has impacted more than 7,800 students across 15 schools in Michigan, equipping them with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their futures.
"Saginaw ISD is thrilled to partner with Youth Solutions in piloting their YS Foundations service, which brings career development planning to schools across Saginaw County," said Kevin Summey, Director of Career and Technical Education at Saginaw ISD. "I look forward to seeing the long-term impact of this service and how it will strengthen career development opportunities for students for years to come."
“With the launch of YS Foundations in Saginaw County, we’re excited to bring lasting systemic change that empowers both educators and students. Our approach transforms school systems and culture by embedding career and life readiness into everyday learning. By focusing on equity and access, we ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. This initiative helps students discover their ‘why,’ making education more meaningful and impactful for their future," said Roger Curtis, Executive Director of Youth Solutions.
Through this collaboration, Youth Solutions and Saginaw ISD are paving the way to a brighter future for Saginaw County’s youth, giving them the career development tools and opportunities they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
