With over 25 years of experience in the educational field, I am thrilled to join Youth Solutions, where I can continue my passion for empowering youth and driving positive change in our communities. My journey began in Berrien Springs Public Schools, where I had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects, including science, social studies, technology, and STEM. My diverse teaching experiences have shaped my commitment to fostering an environment where young minds can thrive.
I also served in various administrative roles, including Curriculum Coordinator, STEM Director, and Instructional Coach. These positions allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the educational landscape and the importance of supporting our dedicated educators. My goal at Youth Solutions is to uplift our specialists who deliver JMG programming to students, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.
As I embark on this new chapter, I am particularly excited about expanding the JMG network across Michigan. I believe in creating real-world opportunities for students through strong partnerships with direct schools, enabling them to gain valuable skills and experiences that will prepare them for the future.
On a personal note, I am married to my high school sweetheart, Doug, who teaches CTE Auto Technology at Lakeshore High School. We are proud parents of three adult children: Ellie, who is student teaching in 5th grade during her final semester at Grand Valley State University; Jacob, studying HVAC Engineering at Ferris State University; and Brandon, a paraprofessional specializing in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support.
When I'm not working, I love to travel, camp, read, and cheer on the Chicago Cubs and Michigan Wolverines. I am looking forward to contributing to the Youth Solutions team and making a lasting impact on the lives of Michigan's youth.
