In my career, I have worked as an education advocate training educators in policy and educational practice at the national, state, and local levels. Most recently, I was the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Federal Programs at a local public school. Having spent years teaching high school English at traditional public, vocational and charter schools and two years as an Instructional Specialist, I have had the opportunity to build programs and implement initiatives that span from Kindergarten to college.
I earned my Master of Educational Leadership degree from Siena Heights University and a BA in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University.
At Youth Solutions, I hope to be a part of a team that will bring about real change in the school systems we serve. I aspire to develop programming that addresses the needs of our students as well as addressing the needs of our society. It would be amazing to support the development of pilot programs that grow into refined models for success that we can scale across the state.
I have 2 boys. My oldest, Joel, just finished his Junior year at the University of Michigan majoring in Computer Science. My youngest just finished his freshman year at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Communication Design. I have 2 cats, Max and Logan. I’m a huge tennis fan, an avid gardener, and I love to travel.
