Each year, the entire Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) network unites at the Youth Solutions’ Summer Summit, a three-day professional development conference that defines our vision and strategies for the year ahead. This year’s Summer Summit was held on July 24, 25 and 26 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Our conference theme was Building Champions: Empower, Inspire, Thrive - Together!, inspired by the spirit of the Summer Olympics.
The Summer Summit is instrumental in amplifying our impact, directly benefiting the 5,000+ youth we serve each year through enhanced strategies, resources, and a united and energized network dedicated to their success. By gathering with our partners and colleagues statewide, we strengthen trust, foster a sense of community, and share crucial information needed to better serve youth in Michigan.
This year, we celebrated our highest-attended Summer Summit to date. The event featured our very first pre-conference for 28 new JMG specialists, the most sessions offered in our history, and unprecedented network involvement with 16 sessions led by JMG specialists and managers.
Among the many resources shared with our network, we reintroduced two key resources: the JMG Playbook, offering 29 weeks of detailed lessons and materials to guide our programs, and the enhanced JAG Genius platform with a new Michigan discussion board. This feature allows JMG specialists to connect, collaborate, receive updates, and access virtual professional development, streamlining communication and support across our network.
A highlight of our annual Summer Summit is the inspirational awards ceremony, where we honor exceptional JMG specialists and celebrate the remarkable program achievements from across the state. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as we proudly announced the award winners, giving them the well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions.
