It is with heartfelt appreciation and a warm sense of reflection that we proudly announce the retirement of our esteemed Executive Director, Mollie Waller. As we bid her farewell, we reflect on the incredible journey we've undertaken under her visionary leadership.
Mollie’s unwavering dedication has been the driving force behind our organization's exceptional accomplishments, setting the stage for a promising future for the organization. Her unique ability to build strong partnerships and foster collaboration has been nothing short of extraordinary. Along with the Youth Solutions team, Mollie turned an aspiration of establishing partnerships with all 16 Michigan Works! agencies statewide into a reality, extending our reach to every corner of the state. Our impact has soared; over 6,600 youth in Michigan – a record-breaking number impacted in a single year. These young people have been inspired to envision a brighter future, ignited by JMG's holistic approach to education and empowerment.
Thanks to Mollie’s commitment to delivering high-quality youth programming, Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) stands proudly as one of only two Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) National affiliates nationwide to achieve all six rigorous performance targets set by JAG across its three program models. Mollie’s leadership not only empowered our JMG specialists but also ensured they had the necessary resources and training to attain this milestone. This achievement showcases the effectiveness of JMG in guiding youth towards successful outcomes and brighter futures.
Mollie expressed her deep gratitude, saying, "I am humbled by what we have achieved together, impacting over 29,000 young people since 2008. We have expanded our programs to reach more underserved communities, enabling access to education, mentorship, and vocational training. It’s been a team effort and I am proud of the staff who embody the values of excellence, collaboration, leadership and solutions-focused. Our initiatives have helped young people develop essential life skills, foster their creativity, and instill in them a sense of purpose and belonging."
Mollie Waller's legacy will forever inspire progress, growth, and empowerment within the organization and beyond. As we look to the future, our foundation is stronger than ever, poised to create lasting change in the lives of Michigan's youth. Mollie’s last day was September 8, 2023. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and personal commitment to our organization and wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.
With Mollie’s departure, we're excited to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Roger Curtis, our newly appointed Executive Director, commencing his role on September 11. Learn more about his journey and aspirations for our organization in our upcoming October newsletter.
