Legislative Day

February 25 & 26, 2025

Legislative Day is our annual event focused on giving youth an opportunity to learn about the state government. This event gives youth from around the state the opportunity to meet with local legislators to share their experiences in the Jobs for Michigan's Graduates (JMG) program and advocate for their communities. This year, Legislative Day will be held in Lansing on February 25 and 26.

Legislative meetings are a premier opportunity for JMG youth to tell their story, voice their opinion, and practice the success skills they have been learning through JMG. For many JMG youth, this is an empowering first experience speaking to their local elected officials, providing them with the opportunity to make their voice heard.

I really enjoyed talking to my representative - he was welcoming, engaging, and receptive to us. I also enjoyed the scavenger photo hunt because I got to tour the Capitol and I had never been there. The whole day was wonderful!

2024 Legislative Champions

Youth participants honored four elected officials from around the state with the JMG Legislative Champion Award, an annual recognition for ongoing support of the work of Youth Solutions that helps young people succeed in education, employment, and in life.
