Karen Aldridge-Eason received a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Michigan and received a master’s in public administration from Western Michigan University.


For 21 years, she has served as foundation liaison to the governor’s office. Established through a join agreement between Michigan foundations and the governor’s office, Karen assumed responsibility for the development of the new position, charged with bringing together state policymakers and foundation leaders to explore and identify solutions to issues affecting Michigan’s children and their families. She also serves as a trustee on the board of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.


Prior to her current role, she was a legislative assistant in the Michigan Senate before becoming the deputy director of a state department budget office within the executive branch, director of the Office of Health and Human Services within the Michigan Department of Management and Budget, and an administrator for a mission boarding school in Liberia, West Africa.


Karen is passionate about quality education from birth through college and career readiness that is accessible for those with the least resources. She is inspired by the desire of people to do good and create real opportunities for families to thrive in Michigan.
