Professional development for our specialists and managers and opportunities for our youth to work on and demonstrate skills learned in the program, are why events are an integral part of Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates.

We are proud to offer several opportunities throughout the year for both youth and specialists. See all the events below.

JMG Youth

Summer Summit

July 29-31, 2020 • To be held virtually

Registration open >>

Summer Summit is Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates Professional Development Conference. This is an opportunity for specialists and managers from across the state to receive training, share ideas, learn and develop best practices, and learn how to best deliver the services to our youth that make our program so instrumental in the lives of Michigan’s vulnerable youth population.

Leadership Day

October 2020

Leadership Day provides youth leaders from the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates program around the state, the opportunity to develop and enhance their team building skills such as communication, problem solving, and resiliency.

Legislative Day

February 2021

The annual Legislative Day event is one of two capstone events for the JMG year-long programming, where students demonstrate the communication, professionalism, and employability skills learned throughout the year. During this event, students visit the Capitol building and are given the opportunity to talk one-on-one with State Representatives and Senators.

Career Development Conference

April 20, 2021

JMG’s other annual capstone event consists of employability skill competitions that showcase what the youth have been working on throughout the year. CDC highlights workplace skills and knowledge, such as product design and marketing, creative problem solving, interview skills, and teamwork. Career-based competitions provide students real world practice for future employment opportunities while volunteer judges evaluate and offer them feedback.

There are many opportunities throughout the year to volunteer your time and be a part of our mission to equip young people with the skills to overcome barriers and succeed in education, employment and in life.
