Preparing Students for Success
Since 2008, Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) has equipped nearly 12,500 young adults with the skills to overcome barriers and succeed in education, employment, and in life.
As the state-based affiliate of the national Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), JMG has national credibility drawn from JAG’s 39-year history serving over 1.25 million youth. Moreover, JMG’s expansive partnership network of Michigan Works! agencies, school districts, community colleges, and non-profits provides a foundation for long-term sustainability.
Don’t take our word for it. Hear from alumni and community leaders about the consistent and compelling results Jobs for America’s Graduates programs have delivered to over one million young people. When students stay in school through graduation they are able to pursue post-secondary education and secure quality entry-level jobs—all leading to career advancement opportunities and stronger communities.
There’s a reason 99% of our participants stay in school. Dedicated mentors, strong classroom instruction, real-world work experience, and leadership development give students the confidence and tools to be successful.
It’s not easy getting back in the game, but we know students succeed in school and preparing for the work force when barriers to education are removed. Access to skills learning, program support, and leadership opportunities are crucial.
SCHOOL TO CAREER
Having a degree in hand is just the first step to career success. Discovering opportunities, touring potential employers, and practicing for interviews provides our participants the confidence to choose the best path for their future.
