Careers in Public Service Month

Careers in Public Service month is dedicated to providing opportunities for youth to learn about career paths in the public sector. Youth from around the state will have the opportunity to participate in virtual events throughout the month of February, hear directly from their state Senators and Representatives, and participate in civic engagement by meeting virtually with their local elected officials.

Legislative meetings are a premier opportunity for JMG youth to tell their story, voice their opinion, and practice the success skills they have been learning through Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG). For many JMG youth, this will be an empowering first experience speaking to their local elected officials, providing them with the opportunity to make their voice heard.
