JMG Alumnus Class of 2020 at Marquette Alger Technical Middle College
What’re you doing now? Did you go to college, a trade school, or into the military? If so, where?
I am in the Nursing Program at Northern Michigan University and working as a CNA at Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
How did JMG help you prepare for life after high school?
They continue to help me even being out of the program. If I ever have a problem I know I can call them and they will help me. It is nice knowing I have another set of people still giving me the confidence I need.
How did the JMG program impact your life?
Job's for Michigan's Graduates (JMG) has given me the confidence to build a wonderful life life for myself and for others.
What did JMG ignite in you?
JMG Ignited a passion in me. Something that I never had. The passion that I could sculpt my life for the better.
What is your favorite memory from your time in JMG?
Some of my favorite memories from JMG include spending time with the class, volunteering for various things, and making an impact.
What would you say is your biggest accomplishment since graduation?
I would say the my biggest accomplishment since graduation is obtaining training to be a CNA and working with my residents at Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
If you could give someone thinking about joining JMG one piece of advice, what would it be?
It can be scary, attempting to do something so big and impactful at such a young age. You will have amazing guidance and wonderful classmates that you get to work with, creating memories and jumping forward in your life. It can be a lot at first, but understand that you are an amazing and intelligent student who is going to accomplish so much for yourself.
Share your hobbies, do you have any pets, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My favorite pastime is reading, I could pick up a book and escape into the book for hours. I do love to watch movies and tv shows. I have quite a few pets. 3 dogs, Kota: a black lab, border collie and husky mix who is 15 years old. Zeus: a Shih Tzu who is 13 years old and Tasha: a Chihuahua who is 4 years old. 3 cats: Krystal, Midnight, and Oreo. My Guinea pig Willow and many fish whom can not all be named in this short clip.
